The .asn.au domain is available to any organisation that fits into the broad category of association - this does not only apply to associations incorporated under specific state legislation.
Some organisations that have been included in the .asn.au domain include incorporated bodies, political parties, trade unions, sporting and special interest clubs, and partnerships between disparate organisations.

an exact match, acronym or abbreviation of the name of your association, political party, trade union or other industry body or club; or

otherwise closely and substantially connected to you because the domain refers or is associated with your activities, e.g. services, events, profession, activity, venue or program.
